Do You REALLY Want to Increase Your Income?
To increase your income, reach your goals and succeed, your DESIRE to get your VFP (Valuable Final Product) must be very important to you.
“Where no real or valuable production is occurring, one has to ask the question, does the executive really WANT the product he is demanding? And does the staff member or members he is dealing with WANT the product?” — L. Ron Hubbard
This “Want” factor is so important that many people succeed, not because they are experts in their fields, but because they REALLY WANT to succeed. They are determined to do whatever is necessary to produce their VFPs and reach their goals.
Many people do not really want their VFPs sufficiently to make it happen. And instead of finding ways to get what they want, they find excuses.
“I can’t get this done today because _________.”
“It’s TOO HARD. I need help.”
“My back hurts and I’m tired, so I can’t do anything that requires much thinking.”
“I reviewed my priorities and getting that done is just not important …”
“She was mean to me so I have to go home and recover before I can do this job.”
If they never really want their VFPs or objectives, they do not succeed, and their income remains stuck.
However, when they change their minds and make themselves WANT their VFPs or objectives, everything goes much better.
10 Benefits of REALLY Wanting Your VFP
1. Your obstacles are easier to handle.
2. You have more courage and feel less fear.
3. You do not waste time on silly purposes, like being a big shot or getting revenge.
4. You have a lot more fun as you make progress and succeed.
5. You do not have time for the news, social media or other time wasters.
6. The skills you need to produce your VFP are easier to master.
7. You have as much confidence as you need.
8. You see awesome opportunities that no one else sees.
9. You are motivated! You feel more passion and energy. You can work for longer hours and get more done.
10. You know what you have to do. You find solutions and make great plans.
Action Steps
1. Pick an objective or VFP you need to reach or produce. For example, “I need to create a beautiful website that motivates visitors to schedule appointments.”
2. Evaluate your current WANT level for this on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 meaning you are so excited and passionate about your VFP that you can’t sleep).
For example, you may not REALLY want your VFP or objective if all you can say is, “I’d like a successful career” or “I want 10 very happy clients” or “I want to add another source of income.”
3. Decide to increase your level to 9 or 10. Decide it’s time to really WANT it.
At this level, your odds of success are excellent as you say things like,
“GETTING ____ (VFP)___ IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME THAT I’LL DO WHATEVER I MUST DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. I WILL WORK 10-12 HOURS PER DAY. I WILL LEARN WHATEVER I NEED TO KNOW. I WILL GET AS MUCH HELP AS I CAN, FROM EVERY SOURCE POSSIBLE. I WILL EAT, SLEEP AND BREATHE MY GOAL. I WILL NOT SOCIALIZE, WATCH TV OR GO ONLINE EXCEPT TO LEARN WAYS TO GET GET MY VFP. I WILL USE ALL MY STRENGTH, TIME, KNOWLEDGE, FAITH, CONFIDENCE AND RESOURCES TO MAKE THIS GO RIGHT. I WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP UNTIL I AM SUCCESSFUL.”
4. Try this exercise. Sit with your eyes closed and decide to boost your want level. Tell yourself things like,
• “I REALLY WANT this ____.”
• “It will give me so many benefits like ____.”
• “I will do whatever it takes, no matter the price, to get this _____!”
• “I will work on this instead of going to parties, wasting time online, shopping, chatting, watching TV or going out for fun. If it does not support my progress, I won’t do it.”
• “NOTHING is more important to me than _____.”
• “I will work every possible waking hour to _____.”
• “Even if it nearly kills me, I’m going to get _____!”
5. As soon as you REALLY want your VFP or objective, DO IT. Get started right now. If you want it with all of your heart, you will get it.
What If You Do Not Want Your VFP?
If you can’t get yourself to want the VFP or objective, something is wrong.
You may need to straighten up something in your life first. Certain things can kill your desire: drugs, alcohol, bad relationships, unethical behavior or difficult people who want you to fail.
Perhaps you need better self-discipline, a better approach, more knowledge, better people around you, a kinder attitude toward yourself or a better place to live or work.
The VFP or objective might not be right for you. It might be harmful to you or others. It might not be your choice.
Maybe you are distracted by opponents, prior commitments, other important goals, even the bad news media.
Whatever the problem might be, fix it!
If you do this, your path opens up and you will find ways to passionately, intensively and unreasonably achieve what you REALLY want.
